The West Suburban Art Society collects only what we need to run our programs and stay in touch with our members.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you join, renew, or register for an event, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
For luncheons and programs, we also collect your meal selection, any dietary restrictions or food allergies you tell us about, and any accommodations you need in order to attend.
If you pay by card, your payment is handled by our payment processor. WSASdoes not receive or store your card number.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
To process your membership and event registrations, to send you confirmations and receipts, to give our Hospitality Chair accurate meal counts, to make accommodations you have asked for, and to send you news about lectures, luncheons, and programs.
ABOUT DIETARY AND ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
Anything you tell us about food allergies or accommodations is shared only with the board members and venue staff who need it to serve you properly. We do not use it for any other purpose.
EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES
Members receive email about upcoming events. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of the message.
Text message reminders are entirely optional and separate from email. You will only receive texts if you have specifically signed up for them. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We share your information only with the services that help us operate:
Our website and payment platform, which processes registrations and payments
Our email platform, which sends our announcements
Our document and spreadsheet tools, where board members access rosters and meal counts
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone else except where required by law.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Photographs and video are often taken at WSAS programs. By registering for a program or attending a lecture, you agree that images taken may be used to publicize the Society, including on this website, on social media, and in brochures and flyers, without further notice or compensation. We do not publish names alongside images.
If you are at an event and would prefer not to be photographed, please tell the photographer. Our full photo policy is in our bylaws.
